Tongariro is worth visiting but you need to hike to see the most spectacular views of turquoise lakes and volcanoes. Taumarunui with white sheep on rolling green hills is Quintessential NZ. Glowworms shining like stars in the dark Waitomo Caves is awe inspiring.
