George Mitchell has extensive living and travel experience – including backpacking through Europe for 10 months, backpacking Round The World (RTW) for 3 years, living in Europe for 7 years, and about 4 years worth of long vacation trips (over 4 weeks each) in North America.
He has taught courses on art and architecture, culture and travel at the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University. He has been blogging since 2014. George is an avid photographer and all the photographs used in the travel courses and travel blogs are his own.
p.s.: adult koalas are not soft and cuddly. Their fur is very bristly. The zookeeper had trouble getting the koalas to leave our arms.
A graduate of McGill University in Canada, George is an experienced application and data architect. Due to his Information Technology expertise, he has developed travel systems for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (Rome), Greyhound Airlines (Alberta), and Sunwing Travel (Ontario).
His experience with major system integrators has given him extensive writing and marketing experience. Using his analytic and research skills, George finds the unique places to visit in each country. Using his project time and cost estimating skills, he designs computerized itineraries for trips.
