One year into our 3 year Round The World trip, it was time for an adventure! We hiked into the infamous opium growing Golden Triangle to see the colourful hill tribes living in Northern Thailand. We could not speak to the hill tribes. We broke the ice by showing them of People of the Hills book!
We loved Ko Samet because there were less tourists going there at that time. Like many other islands, it provides turquoise ocean water lapping white sand beaches.

Rotorua is one of the top four destinations you should include in your NZ itinerary. The Rotorua area is the best place to see colourful thermal pools and other volcanic features in NZ. It is also a great place to meet Māoris, watch Maori craftspeople, see Maori dancing, enjoy a hangi banquet, and learn about their culture.
What are the best places to see local people and experience Thai Buddhist culture?
There are no truly hidden gems in Bangkok as there are more Thais, more Buddhists than there are tourists. But Bangkok has some less visited gems, truly spectacular sights and delicious food that you must experience.
